I finally had my pot taken off on friday. I broke my leg when i fell out of a bus. In my defence, i had been drinking. This makes me unbelievebly happy as i can kind of walk again. The only upside to breaking my leg was that it happned the day before the exams started so i get a couple of extra marks (bonus). I did mean however that i missed valkyrie and as an avid ww2 enthusiast , i was looking forward to picking apart the historical innacuracies.
It also meant that is was over a month before i could go to the games workshop so i am now extremely far behind on my painting. This is extremely bad with watr of the ring about to come out. I have 5 different armies to finish painting and i have only completewly finished one model. life sucks.
I am now going to spend the rest of today watching war movies, eating general crap, and listening to some excellent tunage. Thats right, tunage.
Lets talk books. I have been becoming increasingly impatient waiting for George Martins Dance of Dragons. It was supposed to be out nearly two years ago. And now when it is fianally coming to release day, i lack thre money to buy it.
I just finished reading the godspeaker trilogy by Karen Miller. That was amazing. But as usual, at least one of my favourite characters had to die. Otherwise it was an excellent series. I have to say though, the first book emnpress was may fave. The mijaki are so bloodthirsty it makes me laugh and i love their god.
I have also just read Dark Haven, the third book in the chronciles of the necromancer. It was absolutely superb and i can't wait for the next one. I couldn't believe what happned near the end and i absolutely love malesh. the man is delightfully evil. This book has seen some very intersting developments in the people and also in the general story. The only dissapointment is that the new bad guys aren't anything like as sadistic and bloodthirsty as jared. The man was a legend. I think that we also should have seen more of gabriel. He hasn't really done much yet but you just know that when he does, it will be amazing.
I was watching Letters from Iwo Jima last night. That is a very emotional film and made me come closer to crying than anything since the epsiode of stargate sg1 where doc Fraiser died. I stayed strong though and didnt sacrifice my manliness to weak tears. It was much better than its counter part flags of our fathers and it was good to get a japanese perspective of what happned. That is something that has been sadly neglected in war films. The japanese are always shown as brutal and evil. This film shows the japanese code of honour extremely well and gives bgreat insight as to why the japanese didn't take prisoners.
Thats enough about that, its time to get back to something a bit more manly. Whos better? Colonel O'neill or Colonel Mitchell. I would have to say O'neil, he has more comedy value and just seems in general to be the better leader of SG1. Mitchell, is good but he lacks O'neill's charisma and general appeal. O'niell is also much bettewr at killing people.
The episode of atlantis midway. That was amazing. Teal'c and Ronan fighting together against an SGC full of wraith. The two of themn alone kill far more that Shepard and his 20 man strike team. They die like your average american special forces (that means they die really easily because yankee special forces suck) andleave only the scientists alive.
Must dash now i have things to do that do not include my strong right hand
Laters peasants
